Hello,

I wonder if you can help me with a sticky CVS question! We've been using CVS for quite a while now under Linux to keep track of changes on one of our main projects, and it is very good. However, one feature we would love to have, but can't seem to find, is more information in the CVS change notification emails.

Currently, the watcher-emails each developer receives simply lists the file(s), the developer and the new version number. Is it possible to configure CVS so that this notification email includes the edit comment? The emails are useful to know something changes, but it would be even nicer if we had some way of knowing why the change was made in the email!

Is this possible?

Many thanks for your time,

Peter Goffee,
Senior Software Engineer.
