Hello thx for ur response,

My cvs root is not set to '/' and i just checked it and it looks ok. Also i
tried to add the file to the the module in the tree that i was currently in
ie. dev/test in cvs and i was in dev/ trying to add test.

the command i used was :

cvs add test.java then
cvs commit test.java

The thing is that i have been able to ad files in the past so something
must've changed that im not aware off?

thx again
