It could as well be because it's been a FAQ and has been
discussed to death a few thousand times. Searching the archive
before asking once more (read: doing one's homework and using
own resources *before* asking others to spend their - mostly
private - time on other people's problems) could save those who
ask from this kind of reaction. It's a simple matter of acting
in public mailing lists the way that fits them. This is not a
support forum of the "hey, I use your software so you _have_ to
help me!" kind ...
