Yes, people are generally free to do dangerous and stupid things.  That
doesn't mean that equipment shouldn't be shipped with default safety
features though.  If you want to cut the ground pins off your electrical
plugs and then work in wet surroundings then go right ahead -- just
don't call the manufacturer after you're electrocuted as a result.
