Sorry, I realised that I was not clear. I have dowloaded the AliRoot software on several systems before, and the CVS directory has always been created by the checkout procedure. Now I have a new machine where I have installed RH 7.1. cvs (the program) comes with the system. I have then used it to download my AliRoot software, but on this machine, unlike on the others, the co has not created the CVS directory. Hope I have been clearer now. Regards, Fed
