You seems to have the same problem as me. The firewall systematically block the ports he knows nothing about. Usually they know ftp, web, telnet, ssh, https but cvs is not on the list. Unfortunately, asking your system administrator to open the port seems to be the only solution. And i know this is very difficult. In my case, nobody seems to be able to tell me who the hell is the firewall administrator. So i can't CVS from school !!!!
