What happens when you log in on the local unix box with the *same* user and password as you're trying to use on the Windows box? My guess is that that doesn't work, either. If the "different user" you tried logging in as is a system user and you haven't specified SystemAuth=no in your CVSROOT/config file, the passwd file format may well be wrong but the login is succeeding because of system authorization. If the file format is correct, then the encrypted password for that user doesn't match the password you're trying to use. -Larry Jones Somebody's always running my life.
