I've never been terribly successfull at reconstructing ,v files by hand. Especially if actual data is missing. The only good way that I have found is to go to backups of the repository prior to where the ,v file gets corrupted and restore from there. This is painfull for a number of different reasons. I'm sure other people out there have been successfull and might have different/better approaches.
One of the main reasons that I wrote this script was to allow me to proactively monitor a repository. If I ran the script once a week I hopefully would know within a fairly short period of time that something has gone terribly wrong. Retrieving from backup of a week ago is pretty easy where I work. Retrieving from backup on a arbitrary time( that might have been years ago ) is a nightmare. donald On Mon, Jul 15, 2002 at 01:23:39PM -0400, Applegate, JoAnne wrote: > I've run your script and identified a corrupt ,v file.
