Please excuse my english, I am American :-). I guarantee your English is much better than my French. > I just issued : > ncftpget > ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/PLD/current/dists/ra/updates/security/i386/cvs-1.11. > 5-2.i386.rpm > And got : > -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1218523 Jan 26 00:10 > cvs-1.11.5-2.i386.rpm > > What should I do now ? > Rpm -i cvs-1.11.5-2.i386.rpm > ? Note that packages from the PLD distribution may not be 'happy' in all GNU/Linux environments. It has a number of patches applied to it. Here is the list according to the cvs-1.11.5-2.src.rpm file: Source0: http://ftp.cvshome.org/files/19/10/%{name}-%{version}.tar.bz2 Source1: %{name}.inetd Patch0: %{name}-tmprace.patch Patch1: %{name}-info.patch Patch2: http://www.t17.ds.pwr.wroc.pl/~misiek/ipv6/%{name}-1.11.2-200205 13-ipv6.patch.gz Patch3: %{name}-zlib.patch Patch4: %{name}-fixed_buffer.patch Patch5: %{name}-cvspass.patch Patch6: %{name}-home_etc.patch Patch7: %{name}-newnline.patch Patch8: %{name}-no_libnsl.patch So, if you still want to go ahead and try upgrading cvs on your box with the PLD distribution, then the command rpm -Fvh cvs-1.11.5-2.i386.rpm should do the job for you. However, if you find that this RPM package does not work, you should fetch a virgin copy of cvs-1.11.5 from www.cvshome.org and configure, build and install the cvs from that distribution. If there are still problems, then please find the core file that was created and provide a backtrace of the core file. % gdb /path/to/cvs core (gdb) bt ... % and send [EMAIL PROTECTED] the output.
