When you add a brand-new file on a branch, CVS creates a revision on the trunk (1.1) that contains no lines and has a state of "dead" in addition to the revision on the branch (1.1.2.1) that contains the actual data and has a state of "Exp" (the normal state). -Larry Jones Pitiful.
