Clearly your sed() doesn't support the '-i/--in-place' option. Something like this shell script should work instead:


#!/bin/bash
for f in $(find . -name CVS -prune -o -type f)
do
  sed 's/\$revision_history[^\$]*/$Log/g' $f > blarg && mv blarg $f
done
