Actually, as of 1.11.7, it outputs that "checkout"
instead of "server" for you.

There is nothing wrong. In fact, something is fixed.

Excerpt from the NEWS file:
|Changes from 1.11.6 to 1.11.7:

|
|* In client/server mode, most messages from CVS now contain the actual
|command name rather than the generic "server".

src/ChangeLog says this:
|2003-08-27 Larry Jones <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
|
| * history.c: 'P' is a valid record type and has been for a long time.
| Add it to the comments, usage message, and, most important,
| ALL_REC_TYPES so it gets recorded by default.
| * server.c (do_cvs_command): Set global command_name to the real
| command name rather than leaving it set to "server".
| * sanity.sh: Update to match.
| (Reported by Dmitry Ryzhkov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.)

I hope this information is useful to you.

        Enjoy!
