Thanks for the suggestion. I'm using the cygwin cvs executable. But that wasn't the problem.
The problem was that the user logged in for checkouts and updates during the build was a generic user created only on the cvs server. The user didn't exist on my local machine, since it was rebuilt when I came onboard with this company. So I had to 1) add the user as a local user on my machine, and 2) add the user's passwd (from the local userid) to the cygwin etc/passwd file. I'm currently looking at talking the boss into re-building the build machine as a unix box, since the ant scripts are written so that only a unix environment will build everything correctly (and yes, I'm working on re-vamping this ant script set, cause it's a mess! <grin>) Gotta love it when you inherit someone else's problems!
