Krzysztof,

There are various problems with using the new WinCVS "wizard" for
creating a CVSROOT, in short try this as your CVSROOT instead:
cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/TEMP/resp

Also it is not usual to store your repsoitory in /TEMP ... If possible
please consider using CVSNT on the server as well as the client (yes
CVSNT does run on Linux/Unix etc).

Please direct CVSNT questions to the CVSNT newsgroup:
http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt
or
news://news.cvsnt.org/support.cvsnt

Please direct WinCVS questions to the CVSGUI newsgroup:
http://groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/cvsgui
or
news://news.cvsnt.org/support.cvsgui

Be sure to search the newsgroup for previous posts on your topics.
There are many gettings started guides and FAQs around, eg:

And

Arthur Barrett

Subject: cvsnt unknown login error

Hi,
I'm using CVSNT server on Windows XP machine and CVSNT client +
WinCVS on Windows 98. Since install everything works fine... Now when
I've try to login using:

cvs -d :pserver;username=KP;hostname=192.168.1.206;port=2401:/TEMP/resp
login

WinCVS answering:

cvs95 [login aborted]: Error reading from server 192.168.1.206: -1:
Unknown error

Anybody knows whats is goinng on? Firewall's configuration is ok. Even
if I run WinCVS on server machine with identical command, I've got the
same error... My client machine was power down when I was loged in CVS,
is this may be reason of this error?

Best Regards
