rename of a source file

I'm in a situation in which I have to rename a file and completely 
change it's contents. I'd like to carry the file history in the new name 
and possibly "clean" the history of the old name since it must be 
completely changed...

Is it possible to do it in an easy way ?

PS: my cvs server is "Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.1p1 
(client/server)" running on linux, client is TortoiseCVS
