That's not entirely true if you're using the vendor branch in the traditional manner. The "trunk" in that case is virtual since the HEAD for some files could be on the vendor branch rather than the main branch. Someone (whose name escapes me at the moment and I'm too lazy to go look it up) was working on a patch to add magic tags for things like the trunk and branch roots, but it never quite got finished.
