It sounds like you're in the "pretty safe" zone -- you're using a file server appliance for the NFS server and it sounds like you only have a single NFS client accessing it (the CVS server). The real "danger zone" is having a heterogeneous environment with lots of NFS clients accessing an NFS server on a general purpose platform.
