Jake, What version of CVS are you using? What version of the client, what version of the server. (typing 'cvs ver' on the command line should give you this).
What command are you issuing? What is the exact command and the exact error (cut&paste please). What server operating system is the server running on? Is the server linux, solaris, sparc, intel, windows, x32 x64? If this error is new - did anything recently change - new version of CVS server or client?
