sieveshell problems

I am trying to run sieveshell on RedHat Linux 7.1 using CYRUS-IMAPD-2.0.15 but I
can't seem to get it to use any other auth mechanisim other than CRAM-MD5.
When I telnet to the sieve server, I get:
"SASL" "DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 GSSAPI PLAIN LOGIN"
As my list of auth mechs, but when I run 'strace sieveshell localhost', I can
see that sieveshell hangs on read(3, after sending a write(3, "AUTHENTICATE
\"DIGEST-MD5\" {0+}\r\n"..., 34) = 34

Any ideas???
