This sounds like something bizarre is going on with what cyrus chose for its mmap() method. (Or the Tru64 mmap is doing something silly in terms of memory allocation). Since this didn't really change between 2.0 and 2.1, I don't offhand know what to blame (though perhaps a change of database formats could do this also--since skiplist will grow much larger than flat for the same data). -Rob -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Rob Siemborski * Andrew Systems Group * Cyert Hall 207 * 412-268-7456 Research Systems Programmer * /usr/contributed Gatekeeper
