RH 8 uses GCC 3, but there is a change in the include files. The configure script interprets warning messages from the GCC 3 compiler as errors and dies. I had to comment out the test for SASL success and then configure would finish.
Thanks for your help. I was finally able to shutdown my IMSP server and move everything to the "new" RH 8 machine.

Has anyone been able to get IMSP 1.6a3 (or a2) running on a RH 8.0 box? I get stopped in "configure" with the sasl.h test. cyrus-sasl (v2) is installed via an RPM. I also tried to drop back to cyrus-sasl (v1.5) but get fatal errors about checkpw.c.
No current version of IMSP works with SASLv2. I have a patch, but it hasn't recieved extensive testing. It's attached.
I should probably get over myself and commit it sometime.
