    having re-read your email, sasldb2 does not seem to have much to do with
the authentification process in your particular setup (assuming that I have
not gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick).  Your mysql database does
the authenticating, and as such my 'solution' would not help.  As to
problems with mysql, I am afraid that I have no experience there. Sorry I
can't be of more help
