That was probably my fault. After your report, and your heads up that
master was processing only one message per interaction, I did a fast
spot-look on the 2.2 code to see if it still had the bug.
Apparently, it still did but I failed to notice it :(
You can't take all the blame, I didn't even think to check! :-)
