Hi,
Quoting "Walter H. via Info-cyrus" <info-cyrus@lists.andrew.cmu.edu>:
Hello,
on my CentOS6 I see this error
Jun 12 08:02:33 mail master[1941]: setrlimit: Unable to set file
descriptors limit to -1: Operation not permitted
This is a common error message that is logged on cyrus start/restart,
which is normally followed by a message like "retrying with 8192
(current max)"
what is causing this?
Cyrus need to handle many open files/connections, so cyrus tries to unlimit
the number of file descriptors on start, which is not allowed on all systems
(depending on OS and/or configuration)
Thanks,
Walter
