I just put ,---- | application/pdf; open %s `---- into my new ~/.mailcap file and did “M-x mailcap-parse-mailcaps” and it did works here - taken from http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/MimeTypesWithGnus Now I just would like to use this for all pdf links in emacs, but this is a different issue.
