Just a small word of caution, though. I'm an OAUTH n00b, but I tried to fiddle a bit with OAUTH authentication in the Gmail context a few years back, trying to make it work. I noted that Google keeps track of failed attempts. They would block my IP address after "a few" (< 10?) failed attempts. I got the access back after a couple of hours, but be aware that it may hamper your everyday life using other Google services for a while, if your experiments get too wild ... 😉 Your experience may differ. I assume there must be some kind of sandbox environment at Google that one can get access to when developing authentication clients, but I have not ventured into that space, so I don't know. All above said, please report back on any progress in this area! 🙂 Best regards, /Lars-Johan Liman -- #------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Lars-Johan Liman, M.Sc. !
