Techs,
Congratulations to REXXX for
finding several neat products. Last week he emailed everyone
about a site called www.Software602.com
There are two very interesting things on that site, one of them is an
Microsoft Office substitute for Word and Excel. I downloaded and installed
them and could open any file and save and reopen in Word or Excel.
The price is right.
The second item is a LAN product
that contains a nice webmail client. One of its nicest features is a
common address book as well as other address books. There are also other
LAN products available that would make a pretty complete LAN package. You
can install and use a five person version free.
Last year I paid $35 and got my
own URL for 2 years called PACTEST.ORG My internet provider assigned
six IP's to it and I use that URL for testing all kinds of stuff and don't worry
about messing up my own network. If you would like to check out the
webmail client you can do so by accessing http://206.72.43.58/mail The user name
is aeatest and the password is aeatest. Please remove any emails that you
put on the site after checking it out.
If you're contemplating setting
up a home network with 5 or less computers, this free piece of software would
have just about everything that you would need.
