Design / CAD Class
Teaching Design with the AutoWEB Software Suite (AutoCAD)
2 days, 15 hours (1 Drake graduate credit available as an option with additional fee.)
Instructor: John Olson
Avatech Solutions’ Instructional Lab in Clive
Tuesday and Wednesday November 18 and 19, 2003. 8:00 – 4:30 both days.
Potential audience: Present instructor/subscribers to the AutoWEB lease program and industrial tech or drafting instructors interested in teaching CAD, or mechanical or architectural design.
Learn what new features are included in the software furnished through the AutoWEB lease program and what hardware options work best.
Become familiar with industrial design practices and develop strategies for integrating these features into your industrial technology classes.
No matter where you are in the integration of CAD in your design or drafting program, or which software you use, you should leave this class with an idea of how to use the features of your software to teach a design process. Whether you are using 2-D AutoCAD or more advanced 3-D programs, you should be able to adjust the design fundamentals of this class to your own teaching situation. Strategies for management of student projects and progress will be discussed. Participants in this class will be expected to create project plans and lessons for their own use with students.
This will be the only AutoWEB class offered by AEA 11 this year.
Minimum 8 participants
Cost $350.00 per participant. Drake graduate credit is $90.00 extra.
