Board Defines Cell-Phone Policy
â From Ironwood Daily Globe

Bessemer Area Schools Board of Education [in Michigan] defined its policy for cell
phone
use for the 2004-05 school year Monday.

Bessemer students can have a cell phone at school and on a school bus, board members
agreed, but it must be turned off and put away during school hours (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
and
at after-school activities. Cell phones are âstrictly prohibitedâ in locker rooms.

Students would, however, be allowed to use the phone âat the discretion of a coach
or
advisor,â especially when returning to Bessemer after a game or other activityâ
