If it's _just_ word processing, inexpensive PDAs with keyboards might be a solution. There are a few ways to go. -The basic PDA with IR and a keyboard ($100 + $100) could... ... print via IR (assuming your printer has IR - see the original HP_2100 on E-Bay)... ... or could sync to a computer and print (troublesome with many students/machine) ... or could print via a "Net Extender" device (http://www.tribeam.com/product.html) -802.11b PDAs get more expensive, but obviously then can print via IP (LPR) over your inexpensive WiFi. Yet these begin to have advantages such as saving to the fileserver. -Dreamwriters and their ilk are still around.
