Title: Re: [info-tech] TV's
May I ask is their a specific reason you need tv’s?
I talked to a media specialist once and they are buying projectors and hooking vcr’s up to them to watch tv using the tuner in the vcr, the vcr to play movies and some have dvd players.  Then you also have the projector in the room’s for hooking up to their computers.  I have been getting computer speaker to plug into my projectors for better sound when watching movies or cable tv.  I am buying projectors and not tv’s because of the cost of the projectors have dropped and also they have a bigger picture than the tv for computer hook up’s  Right now I have five projector carts with a dvd vcr combo with speakers scattered thru our building for staff use.(one room is ceiling mounted, and more rooms have been wired this summer for projectors in the ceilings)  They are as simple to use as a tv on a cart, just plug into power and turn on the projector, put the tape or dvd in and click play.  The computer cords are on the cart and connected ready to connect to the teachers computers.  Also the same district media specialist and safety committee has issued a ban on mounting tv’s on walls because of liability issues.  All tv’s in their new buildings are on tv carts.  I know that this solution is  a bit more expensive but I know that the quality of the picture and larger picture will help my teachers incorporate technology into their classrooms easily and keep students attention
Just something to thing about.

I need to find a cheap place to buy TV's for the school. I have looked at the AV/Coop and found their best but I think there are cheaper places.  Ideas?
