Technical Support for Your Principal's Palm and eWalk application software.
Please mark December 17, 2008, on your calendar and plan to attend the workday with the developer of eWalk, Paul Shuster. The directions for eWalk installation are now posted on the AEA homepage; you may want to preview them before the 17th. We will have color copies available on that day, also. As we mentioned in the original post from November 11 (shown below), this is a prime opportunity to get answers to any of the technical issues or problems you have surrounding this software application. Once the installation is complete and you are able to successfully sync the Palm to the eWalk site, we will arrange to work with your principals to learn to conduct a walkthrough using their Palm/eWalk application. Let Kathy Petersen know that you plan to attend ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Direct other questions to Karen Appleton or Dorothy DeGroot. From: Kathy Petersen To: info-tech@aea8.k12.ia.us Sent: Tuesday, November 11, 2008 2:13 PM Subject: [info-tech] eWalk Training eWalk Installation for Palms More than 30 Palms were recently delivered to area administrators. The Palms were received through the Iowa Department of Education technology purchase. The intent of the Palm project is to facilitate walk-throughs using the eWalk software, also provided by the DE. On December 17, we are inviting the tech support person from each of these districts to attend a training and implementation workshop to install the eWalk connection between the Palm T/X and the administrator’s computer. This is the setup that will be needed to perform synchronization. The purpose for bringing the computer and the Palm with its cables is to insure that all tech support personnel have the opportunity to work with Paul Shuster, the creator of the eWalk application. Without this support, the walk-through practices with the Palm handheld will not be possible to implement with fidelity. Beginning in early 2009, there will be area training sessions for administrators. The purpose of these sessions is to practice the walk-through process and to discuss creation of individual templates. Administrators will receive additional information on these sessions. The details for December 17 are: a.. Location: Storm Lake AEA office b.. Time: 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. c.. RSVP/Lunch: Let Kathy Petersen know if you will be attending on this date. Lunch will be brought in…pizza …$2 a slice….let Kathy Petersen know # of slices ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) d.. Also, let Kathy know what kind of palm or palm phone and what platform (PC or MAC). · IF YOUR PRINCIPAL ALREADY HAS A PALM …(provided by E2T2, your school, or through a personal purchase)...we had some additional eWalk software licenses and could use them for these Palms. Contact Karen Appleton ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) or Dorothy DeGroot ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) to ask about additional licenses or to get clarification on any other questions you might have. ============================================================================= Kathy Petersen - Administrative Assistant Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency 8 500 NE 6th St PO Box 802 Pocahontas, IA 50574 712-335-3588 Ext 2052 Fax: 712-335-5870 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Live Simply, Love Generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly and Leave the Rest to God!
