Mail should be working correctly again. It just finished processing 26,000
email messages.
If you want the technical details:
The default for the "Declude" spam processor is to use up to 15 threads to
process incoming email messages. This was to ensure that lower end servers
would not crash with using too many resources. Per recommendations of
Declude this setting has been upgraded to 250 threads, or allowing the
server to process 250 messages at a time. With this setting the mail server
was able to process 26,000 emails in less than 45 Minutes.
I am not sure exactly what started the processing latency, it could be the
service window on Monday, or it could just be that the mail load increased
on the server with the start of school. Regardless of what was the initial
cause, I am confident this issue has been rectified.
