Any district mail goes out from the district site in JMC so we are
not duplicating. Each building does send home their own newsletters,
alerts of grading periods endingetc. Lunch balances are done once a
week here I believe. (again, from the district app).
Daily assignments are kept in JMC or on the web page. Announcements
for the MS and HS are on the web page. The HS uses a Googledoc for
both assignments and the announcements. Both are at the bottom of
our home page (www.algona.k12.ia.us). We have really made an effort
to "push" online parent to get everyone in the habit (for lunch as
well as grades, lesson plans, assignments, etc.)--beginning in pre-
school this year. As an FYI . . . we also went paperless
registration this year -- and just worked off the info in JMC --
without creating or printing forms.
Lunch menu is also posted on the web site, with other documents.

Do all schools send out massive amounts of bulk email? Our district
sends out as much junk mail as a spammer does. Is there a better
solution. 2 -3 secretaries at a time will be bulk mailing to
hundreds of parents at a time and wondering why there are delays in
mail delivery to these people.
They send out things like daily assignment, newsletters, lunch
balances, etc.. What does everyone else do with these? Post them
on a website maybe?
