Jackie, We use a hybrid. The phones do not have very good volume and teachers were adjusting speakerphone so it was comfortable while they sat at their desks.
Secondly, the phones are not in the hallways and thus we were unable to get the announcements in the halls. So we use phones and overhead PA, but that may change as they are causing an echo effect. So I would say all in all, phones as intercom...
