I would like to backport my PR #6081 to the 3.8 branch (my production
installation is currently running Cyrus 3.8), but I am having trouble
reproducing the build/test environment used by the project.
If you create a new PR containing the backported code, and set its
target branch to cyrus-imapd-3.8 instead of master, then it should
run in the 3.8 CI for you. So maybe you don't need to reproduce the
environment locally.
That said, I'll provide some details below in case they're helpful
or interesting.
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation — it was exactly what
I needed.
Following your instructions, I was able to set up a local build and
test environment for 3.8 using the bookworm-libs42 image, and validate
the backport with Cassandane before publishing it. For 3.10 and 3.12,
I relied on the GitHub CI instead, which worked well.
All three backports are now published as pull requests targeting their
respective branches.
Thanks again for your help!
Best regards,
