Some are in the closing state, but not closed yet. Maybe the devices are not online anymore (on this IP) and the TCP FIN packets never arrive. I've set some sysctl settings: net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time=5 net.ipv4.tcp_fin_timeout=5 net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_intvl = 2 net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_probes = 3 Try with them.
I expected to have one connection per device.
