Cute crashed on me with certain machines, so I started using
BulletProof. Neither of which are free. I think WsFTP light is the best
free program, but doesn't support resume downloads. This doesn't matter
most of the time because more and more servers don't support resume anyway.
As for the best freebie, I have to say windows commandline
ftp. Reason? Because it supports OpenVMS which I sometimes connect. The
other clients truncate the files, that's when I use plain old commandline ftp.
Ironically, there is a free wsFTP clone for Linux that does support resume,
but not for windows.
I don't have a preference really I use whatever...
