You might want to reinstall Windows on top of itself first to see if that helps.

My operating system, Windows 95b has begun to crash repeatedly making it impossible to 
work. It seems to be beyond redemption and I thought to try a new installation. 

Does anyone know of a good online source that explains the proper procedure for 
reinstalling windows? I still have the original CD. Thanks.
