Several months ago, I reformatted a computer for my husband and someone told
me I did not need to run fdisk. I knew in the past I always ran fdisk first
but this time, being in a rush, I skipped that. Now my husband's computer
cannot activate autorun and I am wondering if it is because it was not
totally wiped clean with fdisk. NEVER AGAIN will I listen and take a
shortcut. My computer guru always told me to follow the procedures and this
time I didn't listen.

Shall I reformat again? This occurrence only seems to appear on a few of his
CD-ROM programs. In retrospect, I believe that was the main reason I wiped
it .. to see if autorun would work. It does not.

I was not planning on partitioning the 6.4 GB HD which runs on a verrry slow
Intel Celeron 500 which I believe is misconfigured although not by me. *S*
