After visiting the windows update site, I decided to go ahead and update to
IE 5.5*

Mistake number one. After upgrading last night, I received my first crash
in over 6 months. First the icons in the active desktop tray on the
taskbar switched icons ( this suggest a memory leak). I hit F5 but no
change. I right click the icon of IE (down next to the start button) and
CRASH! Kernel crash memory dump blue screen!

My system is much slower now after upgrading IE from 5.0* to 5.5. If your
system is working ok, I do not suggest upgrading to IE 5.5.

This is similar to a lot of Microsoft problems. Just about the time they
got Windows 95 patched, they bring out 98 and the bugs start to crawl all
over again.

If you do visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ then get the critical
updates, but stay away from the biggies like IE 5.5 and all those other
un-needed applications. In other words, I should have followed my own
advice, if it ain't broke, don't fix it;-)
