!: 4 gigs are fine for the os. 8 gigs max for any partition for optimum space use. You
aren't limited to 4 gigs.
2: The programs can reside on any partition
3: Yes, scandisk and defrag will have to be done separately on each partition
4: Partition Magic is a great program (I use it) albeit somewhat expensive. There is a
newer less expensive program out there and I cannot think of the name. When I do find
it I'll post it.
