Pegasus Mail 4.0 is almost ready. I am writing this message using the
preview release now.
One of the major features (python scripting support) of pmail 4.0 is not
in the preview release.
Python scripting will greatly enhance this free email program and allow
you to write your own scripts or download scripts to filter mail, edit
messages, convert to and from html and much more. I guess it would
not be too hard to write a .py script to strip out the headers of all
messages and save to a text file. You may want a script to cut sigs or
ads on reply from a message, or perhaps add your own random sigs
and/or data to messages without using third party programs. Anything
you can do with files, text, or numbers you can do it with python.
The interface if very familiar to my old pmail 3.* however it has a much
cleaner interface. The preview release does not have all the new
features of 4.0 but it seems stable. Also, better (but not full) html
support. No install program, yet.
