Someone asked about this a few days ago (no back button) - just right click and go
back with that selection.

Carolyn P. Meinel aka the happy hacker was hacked a while back and someone put her
email messages online. Mostly spam, but one user who mailed her tried to get her to
send him money through paypal by using www.x.com and told her it was the same thing as
paypal. Her response was to ask if she could use his post on her website, so she must
have felt (at the time at least) that it was a fake site in order to get your paypal
info.
Of course it could all be a publicity stunt to promote her book and she may have
hacked her own site and then used that as an excuse to avoid prosecution in the
exploit/trojan case; or, the email could have been a good forgery.
After viewing the whois info x.com does look legit. But as you know Registrant
Databases have been compromised in the past, thus derives my suspision...
Meingel also was accussed of sending out a trojan to a major internet security list,
but she stated that her email account had been hijacked and denied the charges. I
find that the self-proclaimed system administrators on this list are probably not
system administrators at all and find it very hard to belive that they did not
understand what the code sent in source form.
Read Jerico's obsession with Meinel here and decide for yourself who's stalking who?

Heck, Caroline may even be on the informant list, iddonno. In any case, don't waste
your time purchasing any of her safe hacking or security books; most of the
information is avaiable online for free.
There are many fake sites online called password harvesters. These sites usually
target hotmail users but could target any site such as paypal. However, it seems
x.com is the owner of paypal.

"Not only banks are targets. X.com, owner of the PayPal Web site, was spoofed recently
with PayPai.com, says analyst Chris Musto of Gomez Advisors. Users were diverted to
the fake site with a link that spelled PayPai with a capital "i" at the end, making it
look identical to PayPal on many computer screens."
