Junior Virus Analyst
Job description:
Collect and manipulate suspicious and infected files;
Analyse the behaviour of malware on different versions
of Windows;
Identify and document the behaviour of malware;
Detect malware's existence and behaviour using
real/virtual machines and network analysers;
Create test programs for automatic analysis using
scripting languages;
Communicate the results to the Virus Research Center;
Write C/C++ in house programs.
Requirements:
Basic C/C++ knowledge;
i386 processor architecture;
Windows platform: file system, registry, network
configuration, security, etc;
Network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, ICMP, etc);
Fluent written and spoken English.
Experience in the following areas will be considered a
plus:
JavaScript and Visual Basic scripting languages;
Windows scripting;
Unix operating system;
Assembler language.

Job description:
Plan and execute testing of server and desktop based
security software on Windows and Unices platforms to
ensure timely, high quality releases
Cooperate with other functional departments and
provide technical consultation to the extended team;
Develop and implement automated tests;
Providing technical support to AVIRA customers for
Windows and Unix platforms;
Keeping high-level customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
University degree in computer science or a related
field with at least one year of software industry
experience or lay year student;
Hands-on experience in software testing, networking,
web-based and client/server applications is a plus;
Strong system knowledge in Windows and Unices
(Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD/Solaris) environments;
Background in network protocols, infrastructure or
computer security is a plus;
Knowledge of the most used protocols: SMTP, HTTP, FTP,
SMB, IMAP, POP3;
Good understanding of QA methodology is a plus;
Proficient in script programming
(Perl/awk/sed/shell/batch);
Ability to quickly adapt to new technical concepts;
Self-motivated and proactive to solve problems and
accomplish assignments independently;
High analytical skills;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Good knowledge of English language in writing and
speaking (knowledge of the German language is a plus).
