hello,

I'm in the process of sending out 80,000 messages using IMS SE. I seem to be
getting about 4500 messages delivered per hour.
Does this seem reasonable?
iMS is a lot more capable than that so I would be looking about a bit more.
any way I could speed this up? We're a university shop with tons of bandwidth
so bandwidth isn't an issue.
My CPU usage is going up and down ranging from 0% to 57% but most of the spikes
are well under 50% and the average over the course of 5 minutes is probably
only around 5-10%
That looks like what we see. FYI we have the SE or lite versions on
almost every hosting server and most of our clients send out smallish
newsletters of 1-2,000 addresses, the lot go in a minute or so...
We find a major holdup is the DNS side of things, as we host hundreds of
domains and our email flow is from everywhere to everywhere :-) We have
added a dedicated DNS server to mind internal lookups and that has helped.
