I
think checking the "MX from Address" box on the post server console handles the
MX record issue.
As for
the relay, you could create something in the post fail template using the failto
address to forward the e-mail to another server.

We have a mailing list which has a number of people on it who have their domains incorrectly setup with no MX.

Alternatively could we ask it to relay the ones it can't deliver to another server - which will try the A record when the MX fails.
We don't want to relay everything to the other server as this causes too much load on that server.
