Subject: Name Servers not responding David Huberman,
I am trying to setup a spam filtering service using this
Class C network: 204.80.193.0 I have filled out all of your templates,
however they keep getting rejected. (Regarding your comments on phone: I can read and I have read all of your emails. ) Please help
!
Here is the error:
Here is the information that I have submitted to my
registrar: (GoDaddy)
Reverse lookup fails:
Country: UNITED STATES
Preparation: The reverse DNS entry for an IP is found by reversing the IP, adding it to "in-addr.arpa", and looking up the PTR record. So, the reverse DNS entry for 204.80.193.1 is found by looking up the PTR record for 1.193.80.204.in-addr.arpa. All DNS requests start by asking the root servers, and they let us know what to do next. How I am searching:
Asking e.root-servers.net for 1.193.80.204.in-addr.arpa PTR record: e.root-servers.net says to go to henna.arin.net. (zone: 204.in-addr.arpa.) Asking henna.arin.net. for 1.193.80.204.in-addr.arpa PTR record: Reports that no PTR records exist. Answer: No PTR records exist for 204.80.193.1. [Neg TTL=10800 seconds] Details: henna.arin.net. (an authoritative nameserver for 204.in-addr.arpa., which is in charge of the reverse DNS for 204.80.193.1) says that there are no PTR records for 204.80.193.1. To get reverse DNS set up for 204.80.193.1, you need to speak to your Internet provider. You could also check with [EMAIL PROTECTED], who is in charge of the 204.in-addr.arpa. zone. Note that all Internet accessible hosts are expected to have a reverse DNS entry (per RFC1912 2.1), and many mailservers (such as AOL) will likely block E-mail from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry. Can someone please help?
Sincerely,
David Goldfield
