It has been our experience that when the POST queue folder gets very big, it can not be opened with Windows Explorer. This causes Explorer to hang. (One of the limitations of Windows OS.) You can however open cmd.exe window, cd to the POST directory and run dir command to count the mail files. You can also run a short C program to count the number of files in the directory.

The CFX tag has a SpoolDir parameter in which you can specify multiple POST Server queue folders.  There is no current way of getting the queue status of a POST Server but we do have future enhancements scheduled.

Subject: [iMS] Current iMS Post Queue Status

We plan on using iMS Post on multiple servers. Is there some best practice for balancing the Post load between multiple iMS Post servers? Is there any built in feature that will allow me to programatically check the queue of an iMS Post Server for number of messages ready/waiting to be sent now--and/or within the next hour?

Thanks,
