Hotmail servers are so bad that I know of list managers that will not even allow hotmail accounts to sign up.  These are all most likely related to the unreliability of those receiving servers.   The mail will probably still go through to one of the available servers and the error messages can likely be ignored.

I get unknown user and ten minutes later user is complaining about mail not being delivered and Hotmail is accepting again.


I have no idea if this is the answer to your problem but MSN.com and hotmail .com give us all sorts of problems.
